Electrode Switching Unit

The MULTINODE switching unit is an accessory for the automatic acquisition of resistivity data.

It is compatible with the SYSCAL JUNIOR, SYSCAL R1 PLUS, SYSCAL R2 or ELREC T resistivity meters.

Each MULTINODE unit includes 16 switchable nodes. Up to 16 MULTINODE units can be inter connected.

Easy to Operate

The MULTINODE unit is connected to the RCM communication interface through a 7 conductor cable. It is connected to each of the 16 electrodes with a standard 1 conductor cable. The resistivity meter then automatically carry out sequences of readings with preset or programmable sequences. The data can be fed to 2D or 3D automatic inversion PC software to obtain the resistivity section below the field array. The depth of investigation depends upon the spacing and the number of electrodes, from a few meters to a few tens of meters.

Technical Specifications:

  • Maximum number of electrodes switchable with one MULTINODE unit: 16

  • Maximum number of MULTINODE units connectable in series: 16

  • Input plug: 7 male pins

  • Output plug: 7 female pins

  • Connection of stake wires: by push button

  • Power supply: by the resistivity meter

  • Operating Temp: -20oC to +70oC

  • Dimensions: 31 x 21 x 25 cm

  • Weight: 2.8 kg.

For Exploration: the whole system (resistivity meter, RCM, MULTINODE, electrodes, cables), is moved after each sequence of readings.

For Monitoring: the electrodes and their cables are left in the field. To check the variations with time of the resistivity, the operator regularly comes back to the field and connects the MULTINODE unit to the electrodes to carry out a new sequence of readings.
